Katherine Bennett has been promoted to head Airbus UK following a shake-up of its management team in the UK.

Having previously held the post of Senior VP (Vice-President), Public Affairs Ms Bennett’s new role will be as Senior VP, Airbus in the UK.

The move follows the departure, by mutual consent, of CEO and President Airbus Group UK, Paul Kahn.

Ms Bennett will be in control of around 10,000 staff members at the European Airframers’s sites at Filton near Bristol & Broughton in North Wales. The sites construct Wings and other components for Airbus‘ family of commercial airlines including the A380 and A350.

Speaking about the promotion, Airbus Chief Executive Tom Enders said: “Airbus is making great progress with its integration, I congratulate Katherine on her promotion within the new organisation” adding “I am looking forward to working with her more closely in this new role.”

Airbus in the UK has been undergoing a restructuring phase recently to bring its airliner, defence and space operations together under one top-level management team.

Ms Bennett joined Airbus in 2004 and was promoted to Head of Communications in 2007. In 2010 she was made Head of Political Affairs liaising with the UK government over policy matters that concerned Airbus.

Ms Bennet has been a member of the UKTI Advanced Engineering Board since 2008.
